Since the end of the 44-day war, Azerbaijan has been working to rebuild and reconstruct the territories that returned to its control. In this op-ed for KarabakhSpace.eu, Vasif Huseynov gives an account of the progress that has been made over the last year and the work that is ongoing.

From 10 November 2020 until 15 October 2021 a total of 18,302 hectares (45,225 acres) of land was cleared by demining experts. As many as 22,230 items of unexploded ordnance, 17,426 anti-personnel mines and 8,755 anti-tank mines had been detected and destroyed.

EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus, Toivo Klaar, on Thursday (21 October)met in Yerevan with Armenian prime minister Nikol Pashinyan. During the meeting Klaar assured the Armenian leader that the EU was ready to support the process of establishing an atmosphere of trust and dialogue in the region, which will contribute to peace and stability.
