The Azerbaijan Government submitted the draft state budget for 2022 to parliament on 27 October, which included an estimated revenue of 26.82 billion Azerbaijani manats ($15.8bn), an increase of 5.4 percent compared to 2021. Meanwhile, state budget expenditures are planned to reach 29.8 billion manats ($17.5bn), a 4.7 percent rise compared to this year
The proposed budget also includes 1.2 billion manats ($705 million) for the reconstruction of territories that returned to Azerbaijani control in last year’s 44-day war as well as 9 million manats ($5m) compensation for damages suffered by its citizens during last year’s war.
It was also announced that the defence and security budget is expected to reach 4.4 billion manats ($2.6bn).
