Georgia condemns Russian move to display flag in 3+3 meeting

Georgia has condemned Russia’s decision to display a Georgian flag in the "3+3 regional cooperation initiative" held last Friday.

The meeting, which was attended by the deputy foreign ministers of Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkey and Iran, did not feature representatives from Georgia, who had announced beforehand that they would not be taking part.

A statement by the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the “Georgian side has been repeatedly stating its clear position on the 3+3 regional cooperation initiative – that we do not consider participation in this format. The meeting held on 10th December in Moscow, featured the Georgian flag that is unacceptable for us and to which we reacted through the relevant diplomatic channels”.
