Klaar meets Pashinyan in Yerevan as EU steps up engagement with processes in the South Caucasus

EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus, Toivo Klaar, on Monday (23 January) met in Yerevan with Armenian prime minister, Nikol Pashinyan.

In a tweet on his arrival in Yerevan the EU envoy said

Back in Yerevan for a day of meetings. The situation around the Lachin corridor is serious and solutions have to urgently be found. I look forward to discussions to explore ways forward. The 🇪🇺 goal remains a comprehensive 🇦🇲-🇦🇿 settlement.

According to Armenian sources during his meeting with prime minister Pashinyan, Klaar discussed the situation in the region, as well as issues related to Armenia-European Union cooperation. 

Attyending the meeting were the Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Andrea Wiktorin and the Secretary of the Armenian National Security Council, Armen Grigoryan.
