Yesterday (30 December), the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and of Russia, Sergey Lavrov, held a phone conversation.
According to Azerbaijani sources, the two exchanged views on the current situation in the region and the implementation of the trilateral statements (Armenia-Azerbaijan-Russia). The foreign ministers reviewed the latest regional developments, including the inaugural meeting of the “3+3 format” held in Moscow, and discussed other areas of mutual interest.
The Russian statement also noted that “the successful promotion of the Russian-Azerbaijani strategic partnership in all directions was stated”, and that the two Ministers had summed up the results of their joint work over the past year. Lavrov and his Azerbaijani counterpart agreed to continue work on the full implementation of the tripartite agreements, including on issues relating to unblocking economic and transport links and beginning the process of delimitation of the Azerbaijani-Armenian border.
The sides reportedly also shared their congratulations for the new year.
