Azerbaijan alleges Armenian troops opened fire on its position in the Kelbajar area

Azerbaijan has accused Armenia of opening fire on its positions in the Kalbajar region on multiple occasions over the past few days.

A report from the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence on 9 February said that Armenian armed forces had used small arms and periodically subjected to fire the Azerbaijani army position, as a result of which retaliatory action was taken to suppress opposing fire.

A similar statement from earlier today reports more firing from Armenian troops in the Kalbajar region. It adds that there are no losses among the military personnel and equipment, noting that the situation is currently stable under the control of the Azerbaijani Army.

The Armenian MoD has denied these accusations as misinformation, claiming that the situation is under full control of Armenian forces.
